Any last minute summer plans for the weekend?
Not this weekend... but next weekend for sure. Becky and I are heading to Atlanta for An Evening with Crispin Glover. It is a slideshow, a showing of his latest movie, and then a Q&A session. All at The Plaza Theatre. You should google around about him... he's wild... and there is much more to him than being Michael J. Fox's dad in Back to the Future.
A recent study suggests that radiation from cell phones may cause cancer; what, if any, cell phone usage precautions will you take in light of this information?
Submitted by Tim.I haven't had a phone call over 3 minutes in years. Potentially never on a mobile phone. Its all text messages and quick "hey I'll see you in 5 minutes" type phone calls for me. Even so, I probably will get some type of hands free. Probably just a normal wire thing because I don't do the bluetooth cockroaches. They seem to be for people who think they are more important than they really are.
What is a childhood memory that still haunts you?
An uncle brought some chickens over for my grandmother to cook. I can still remember her talking about how they had to ring chicken necks when they were kids. So out goes granny to kill a chicken.
Obviously being a long time since she'd performed this task, it just wouldn't work for her. So the uncle pops out with an ax, slaps the chicken up on a stump and chops its head off. This would have probably been traumatic enough, but then I had the unfortunate experience of seeing the headless chicken run around for a bit. Then I notice that our dog had the chickens head in its mouth.
I don't think I ate chicken for a while.
Also I've very thankful that this seems to be the most haunting memory I have of my childhood.
What's your favorite type of donut?

Plain old Krispy Kreme glazed. I have a less than healthy obsession with them. Especially when the HOT sign is on.
Unfortunately I find myself living in a town void of a Krispy Kreme shop (Kingsport has one... but that's like 25 minutes away). You can buy them in convenience stores, but it just isn't the same if you can't get your hands on them fresh.
What's on your "To-Do" list today? What are you most looking forward to and what are you most dreading?
This is quite a bit on the list today as I'm trying to get some loose ends tied up so that I can leave town Wednesday evening. I'm dreading most of it actually.
The interesting thing has been an attempt to rent a car. I'm dying to rent a hybrid but no one around here seems to have one.
What are some of the best(and worst) things about summer?
Submitted by L33tchica.Honestly since I'm not in school any longer, there isn't much that I find good about Summer. Way back when Summer usually meant no school. Now it means heat and humidity and yardwork. Bleh.
What are the goofy nicknames you have for your pet? Bonus points for sharing a picture of him/her.

First you have Vincent, the cat. He has several nicknames. At one time he was the conquistador. His current nickname is Boui. I sometimes call him an asshole.
Cecil, the dog really only has one nickname... Weasel. I think only because it sort of rhymes with Cecil.
What's your favorite type of cheese? Or, if you don't like cheese, why not?

Brie. I wish I could remember the first time I had this stuff but I'm totally hooked. Cardboard would taste great with warm Brie spread on it!
How are your Saturday nights different now than they were five years ago?
Well 5 years ago I lived in Vermont so that is the biggest difference. Back then I lived in a condo with a couple of Canadian guys. Back then Saturday nights consisted of cookouts at our condo, which would then morph into the famous "Garage Parties". I certainly do not drink as much now as I did back then :)
Music-wise, what was the first 45, single or download you bought?
Submitted by Paddy Melt Wagon.
P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing) by Michael Jackson. It was a 45.
No sense in trying to lie and say I'd bought something cooler.
